However, Princess suspended operations through the summer of 2021 because to the COVID-19 pandemic, so ending the ship's inaugural year in the Caribbean and Europe. On November 10, 2021, the ship left from Port Everglades for her inaugural trip, making stops at Princess Cays, St. Thomas, Dominica, Curaçao, and Aruba.

The ship was delayed in construction because to the COVID-19 epidemic affecting Fincantieri's operations, and it was ultimately delivered on September 30, 2020, three months later than scheduled in June 2020. Princess resumed operations on November 10, 2021, when she sailed on her inaugural trip, following a year-long hiatus due to the pandemic's effects on travel.
