A division of Carnival Corporation & plc, Carnival Cruise Line operates the Vista-class cruise ship Carnival Firenze. Originally ordered for the Chinese market, she made her debut as Costa Firenze for sister company Costa Cruises. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic's negative effects on cruise tourism in China, the ship was never sent to Asia. The 135,156 gross tons (GT) ship, named Florence, was built in Marghera, Italy, by Fincantieri, an Italian shipyard, and delivered in December 2020.

 

Amidst a corporate fleet reorganization following the pandemic in 2023, Carnival Corporation declared that Costa Firenze will be integrated into Carnival under the "Costa as Carnival" sub-brand, which will function as "Carnival Fun Italian Style". In an attempt to increase domestic American capacity, the new idea was created to include Costa Firenze and sister ship Costa Venezia into Carnival. This was done because the cruise company had sold many older ships while Costa had operating difficulties in its main markets. During her pre-delivery renovations in February 2024, she was formally renamed Carnival Firenze. She will make her Carnival debut in April 2024 as part of the brand-new sub-fleet of Venice-class ships.
